www.crucifyd.com » history
starting out as just "the crucified page" in 1998 because i couldn't find any sites for the band, i later added "the believer page" for the same reason...using various and ridiculously long urls until 31 december 1999 when i got the domain name as a present from my wife. at that time i made "the crucifyd page" just for personal whatever...

so, why crucifyd?...well, back in the days of aol (bleh!), when i originally got online, i wanted to use "crucified" for my username. since it could only be eight characters, i swapped in a "y" for the "ie" and i've been using it ever since. when it came time for a domain name i tried for www.crucified.com however somebody swiped it from me. i was very upset at the time but now i'm glad it worked out the way it did and "crucifyd" has kind of become my signature.

the origination of the desire for the username "crucified" did have to do with the band at the time, however, it has come to mean much more to me than any band ever could...the true significance behind the name and the ultimate reason for this entire site is stated on the back of the lp "human sacrifice" by vengeance:

the nails were pounded into his hands and feet. cold brittle men bearing on cold brittle spikes. blood flowed freely through the open aching crevices in his flesh. a tangled crown of thorns was thrust upon his head. the warm salty mixture of blood and sweat dripped down his swollen face. his naked body, weakened and shredded by the scourgings, was lifted into place on the erect wooden stake. a nauseating convulsion forced its way through his body. driven by the need for air, he strained against gravity's grip in order to partially fill his collapsed chest. his body had become a bruised canvas, painted with hideous strokes of pain. all the sins of a hurting world were now his. the memory of ridicule and denial broke his faltering heart still more. he carried the burden of eternity on his shoulders. love submitted to pain. it was his gift. hanging on a bloodied cross...

human sacrifice

thank you Jesus my Lord...
